Best Burger Competition Returns to Stillwater to Raise Funds
for Cystic Fibrosis

Stillwater, MN – December 22, 2012 – The third annual “Best Burger in the Valley” cards are now on sale (and would make a wonderful stocking stuffer.) The Best Burger event returns this year to again unite support from the Stillwater community and area businesses in the fight against cystic fibrosis, a life-shortening, genetic disease that affects the respiratory and digestive systems.

The public is invited to purchase Best Burger cards for $20, which are redeemable for a burger at six Main Street restaurants during January, February and March.

To purchase a card, visit one of these retail partners: Alesci Furniture Gallery, Northern Vineyard or Trade Wind Spice Company. Cards may also be purchased at Leo's and Reve 324 (or by calling KLBB Radio at (651) 275-1220.)

Participating restaurants in this year’s competition are: Brine's Restaurant & Bar, Pub Monique, Reve 324, Smalley's Caribbean Barbeque, Water Street Inn, and the defending 2011 Champion, Leo’s Grill & Malt Shop.

Through the generosity of Stillwater restaurants and local diners, the annual competition has raised nearly $23,000 for the benefit of the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, “Through research, technology, and medical advancements the average life expectancy of a child born with cystic fibrosis has been lengthened from 22 years to now nearly 40. But the tragedy of knowing you may outlive your child drives the CFF organization and this fundraiser to help find a cure,” said Cory Buettner, coordinator of the competition. “We hope to aid CFF with their mission of ‘Adding Tomorrows Everyday”.

Participants vote for their favorite burger using the ballot number on the back of their Best Burger card by visiting BestBurgerintheValley.org or by mailing the card to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, 8011 34th Avenue S, Suite 116, Bloomington, MN 55425. Additional donations will be gladly accepted. Voting ends April 15, 2012 and the winning restaurant will be announced in late April.
